What You Should Do

• -If you applied for a Canadian passport before April 1, 2026 and it has not been processed within 30 business days of IRCC receiving your complete application, you are entitled to a full fee refund — contact IRCC or the passport office to claim it.
• -If you are a temporary resident (student or worker) planning to stay in Canada long-term, review the 2026-2028 Levels Plan at canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/mandate/corporate-initiatives/levels/supplementary-immigration-levels-2026-2028.html to understand how the planned reduction to under 5% temporary population may affect your status or transition to PR.
• -If you are planning to sponsor parents or grandparents for a super visa, note that income requirement calculations changed as of March 20, 2026 — review the updated requirements at canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices.html before submitting your application.
