Express Entry Update — June 1, 2026

Monday, June 1, 2026

The most recent Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw (#417, May 27, 2026) issued 3,000 ITAs at a CRS cutoff of 518, while the latest French-language draw (#418, May 28, 2026) issued 4,500 ITAs at a cutoff of 409.

IRCC broke its usual biweekly draw rhythm in May 2026, skipping CEC and category-based draws and only holding a PNP draw, causing uncertainty about when regular draws will resume.

A total of 79,841 ITAs have been issued through Express Entry in 2026 so far, with the next draw predicted around June 8, 2026.

What You Should Do

  • Check your current CRS score using the official Express Entry CRS tool at canada.ca/express-entry to see if you meet the recent CEC cutoff of 518 or the French-language cutoff of 409.
  • If you qualify for French-language draws (cutoffs consistently between 393–419 in 2026), ensure your French language test results (TEF Canada or TCF Canada) are valid and uploaded to your Express Entry profile before the next expected draw around June 8, 2026.
  • Monitor IRCC's official Express Entry draw results page at canada.ca/express-entry for the next draw announcement, as the May 2026 pause means timing is unpredictable and a longer pause could push CRS cutoffs higher.

Topics Covered

CRS Cutoff Trends: The May 27, 2026 CEC draw cut off at 518, while French-language draws remain significantly lower (393–419 range). IRCC paused its regular biweekly schedule in May 2026, holding only a PNP draw.

Category-Based Selection System: In 2026, IRCC has conducted draws across multiple categories including French-language proficiency, CEC, PNP, Trades, Senior Managers, and Healthcare. The May 2026 pause interrupted the regular rotation of category-based draws.
