Provincial Nominee Program Update — June 15, 2026
Monday, June 15, 2026
British Columbia's PNP issued 357 invitations on June 2, 2026, targeting construction trades (37.4% of invitations) and healthcare/care-related occupations, in line with BC's new immigration priorities announced April 23, 2026.
As of June 1, 2026, Ontario's OINP has not yet released official details of its planned restructuring — stakeholders expect the current Employer Job Offer streams (Foreign Worker, International Student, In-Demand Skills) to be consolidated into a new framework, but no final details have been published.
As of March 30, 2026, provinces and territories became solely responsible for assessing two key PNP factors — a candidate's ability to become economically established and their intent to reside in the nominating province — following a transfer of authority from IRCC.
What You Should Do
- If you work in construction trades or healthcare in BC, check your eligibility for the BC PNP Skills Immigration stream at welcomebc.ca/immigrate-to-bc/bc-provincial-nominee-program — the June 2 draw prioritized exactly these occupations.
- If you are an Ontario employer or OINP candidate, monitor ontario.ca/oinp regularly — the EOI portal is still active but stream consolidation is expected soon; employers will need to create new job offers under the updated system when announced.
- If you have an active PNP application, be aware that as of March 30, 2026, provinces now solely assess your 'intent to reside' and 'ability to become economically established' — review any correspondence from your province carefully and respond promptly to any new requests.
- Review IRCC's PNP regulatory update details at canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship to understand how the March 30, 2026 authority transfer may affect your existing or pending application.

PNP Federal-Provincial Authority Transfer: As of March 30, 2026, IRCC transferred sole responsibility to provinces and territories for assessing two critical PNP factors: a candidate's ability to become economically established and their intent to reside in the nominating province.
