Provincial Nominee Program Update — June 11, 2026
Thursday, June 11, 2026
British Columbia issued 357 invitations on June 2, 2026 — its 12th round of 2026 — targeting construction trades (37.4% of Skills Immigration invitations) and healthcare/care-related occupations, aligned with BC's April 23 provincial immigration priorities.
BC PNP released an updated Skills Immigration Program Guide effective May 28, 2026, and announced a Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support initiative with registration open June 15 to August 31, 2026.
As of March 30, 2026, regulatory updates transferred authority for assessing key nomination criteria from IRCC to provinces, meaning a valid provincial nomination certificate now serves as sufficient proof of those criteria for federal PR applications.
What You Should Do
- If you work in construction trades or healthcare in BC, check minimum score requirements for the June 2 BC PNP Skills Immigration draw categories at welcomebc.ca/immigrate-to-b-c/bc-provincial-nominee-program to see if you are competitive.
- If you are a health worker interested in rural/remote BC placements, register for the Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support initiative between June 15 and August 31, 2026 via the BC PNP portal at welcomebc.ca.
- Attend the BC PNP free webinar on June 10, 2026 focused on the CARE objective and the Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support initiative — registration details available at welcomebc.ca/immigrate-to-b-c/about-the-bc-provincial-nominee-program/news.
- If you have a BC PNP application in progress, download and review the updated Skills Immigration Program Guide (effective May 28, 2026) from the BC PNP Documents page at welcomebc.ca to ensure your application meets current criteria.
- If you are applying to any PNP stream post-March 30, 2026, confirm with your province that your nomination certificate addresses the newly transferred assessment criteria, as IRCC no longer independently evaluates those factors under the new regulations.
