Provincial Nominee Program Update — May 4, 2026
Monday, May 4, 2026
Canada increased PNP nomination allocations by approximately 31% across most provinces and territories for 2026 compared to early 2025 levels, though some Atlantic provinces have not yet confirmed final allocations.
BC PNP issued 484 ITAs on April 22, 2026, targeting candidates who will create high economic impact in B.C., up from 460 in a February 11 draw.
Canada's TR-to-PR fast-track initiative (up to 33,000 workers over 2026–2027) includes PNP applicants already in the system — specifically those living in smaller communities for at least two years — and IRCC confirmed at least 20,000 will receive PR in 2026.
What You Should Do
- Check whether your province has announced its 2026 PNP allocation by visiting your provincial immigration website directly (e.g., welcomebc.ca for BC, Alberta.ca for Alberta). Atlantic provinces including Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, and PEI have not yet confirmed final 2026 allocations.
- If you already have a PNP application submitted and have lived in a smaller Canadian community for at least two years, check your IRCC online account for any fast-tracking notices under the In-Canada Workers Initiative — IRCC states no new action is required from eligible applicants.
- If you are a BC PNP candidate, log into your BC PNP Online User Profile at welcomebc.ca to check if you received an ITA from the April 22 draw (484 invitations issued).
